The Hardrock is made for children through adults who rock repeatedly, including high-impact rocking. Smirthwaite builds it heavy-duty for continuous movement and describes it as moderate postural support for school and home, with an anti-thrust seat structure and an anterior pad to keep the pelvis aligned.
Four sizes. Seat height and maximum user weight: size 2, 10.2 to 16.1 in and 132 lb; size 3, 11.4 to 17.3 in and 154 lb; size 4, 14.8 to 20.7 in and 198 lb; size 5, 16.7 to 21.7 in and 331 lb, with a 25.6 in high back. Size 2 weighs 77 lb and size 5 weighs 132 lb.
Sizes 2 and 3 come with adjustable armrests, an anti-thrust cushion, a tray, a buckle pelvic strap with pad and a transporter base; size 4 has the same set with a mobile base and push handle instead. Thoracic supports and stabilizers are optional for users who move sideways. Smirthwaite's 2-year warranty on materials and workmanship counts from arrival.
