Smirthwaite designed the Asiento for children, teenagers and adults with moderate to complex needs. It sits on a quiet electric hi-lo base that the user can raise and lower with a remote control, and Smirthwaite notes the quiet motor helps people who are sensitive to sound. Standard features include a Bodypoint harness and a lap strap, with a dynamic back as an option.

Three sizes follow an age guide: size 1 for 1 to 6 years, size 2 for 6 to 12, and size 3 for 12 to 18, which is part of the Plus range. Seat widths are 11.2, 16.1 and 18.9 in. Sizes 1 and 2 take up to 80 kg, size 3 up to 120 kg. The back angles 10° forward and 32° back, tilt in space reaches 10° forward and 20° back, and armrests set 4.3 to 12.8 in above the seat.

Smirthwaite stresses correct fitting and offers its support team to help. Its warranty covers materials and workmanship for 2 years from arrival, on top of your legal rights.
