We have added the Harmar Pinnacle SL600 to our shelf. It is a straight indoor stairlift that steps up from the Pinnacle SL300 with more weight capacity, a wider seat and a much longer possible run of track.
What it is and who it suits
The SL600 serves one straight flight of stairs inside the home. Harmar puts the emphasis on the ride itself. Its product page describes a patented helical worm gear drive for an "extremely smooth and quiet ride." Folded, the lift sits just 10 1/2 in from the wall, which leaves the rest of the staircase for everyone else.
It may be the right fit when:
- The stairs are straight and indoors.
- The rider is within 350 lb.
- The staircase is long. Track runs from 15 ft 6 in up to 70 ft.
- The incline is between 27° and 52°. Harmar notes that above 45° local approval may be needed.

Comfort, safety and power cuts
Harmar describes an upholstered seat with a full-sized backrest and a retractable seat belt as standard. Sensors in the footrest and the chassis stop the lift if it meets an obstruction on the stairs, and the swivel seat has an interlock.
The lift keeps working on battery power when the electricity goes out. Harmar puts the figure at up to 60 trips. Because the gear rack is nylon polymer, Harmar says it needs no grease, so the rail is low maintenance and easy to wipe clean.

- Automatic folding rail, for stairs where the bottom of the rail would block a doorway or hall

Warranty
The SL600 warranty document lists:
- Motor: lifetime.
- Supplied batteries: 1 year.
- Labor is not covered.
- Registration is due within 10 days of installation.
- The warranty does not apply if the lift is installed outdoors.
