A desk that can rise as a child grows is a good fit for home learning or a classroom. Smirthwaite's wooden Study Desk adjusts in height and was designed for use with the Heathfield and Brookfield chairs.
Use the top flat, or angle it; Smirthwaite recommends a work surface set somewhere from 10 to 20 degrees. Beneath the desktop sits a roomy storage space for books, toys and therapy tools. Two sizes are made. The smaller, Size 1, sets anywhere from 13.6 in to 20.5 in high, with a top 17.7 in wide and 23.6 in deep. The larger, Size 2, sets from 20.5 in up to 32.3 in, with a 21.7 by 29.5 in top. Either one weighs 42 lb and holds up to 176 lb.
Delivered assembled, it is ready to use straight away, and Smirthwaite's 2-year warranty covers materials and workmanship.
