Three of the Smirthwaite chairs on our shelf have short accessory lists: one or two parts each, made to fit that chair and nothing else. Rather than give each its own post, we have gathered them here. Each section names the chair, the add-on, the sizes we stock and what Smirthwaite says the part is for.
As with the chairs themselves, a therapist or clinician can advise on size and set-up.
Corner Chair: the tray table
The Smirthwaite Corner Chair is a floor sitter for young children. Its add-on is a table tray, sold on our Smirthwaite Corner Chair Tray listing. Smirthwaite's corner chair tray table page calls it an optional table tray for activity work, feeding or play.
There are two tray sizes, and they map to the chair like this:
- Corner Chair Table Tray, tray size 1: for Corner Chair size 1 or 2. Smirthwaite lists a height range of 5.1-11 in, a top of 23.6 by 23.6 in and a weight of 18 lb.
- Corner Chair Table Tray, tray size 2: for Corner Chair size 3. Height range 13.6-21.5 in, the same 23.6 by 23.6 in top, and 22 lb.
The tray size is not the same number as the chair size, so check the pairing above before you order. Ordering both at once? Let us know which chair size you chose and we will check that the tray matches.
Felix School Chair: the lap strap
The Smirthwaite Felix School Chair is a stackable classroom armchair, and Smirthwaite lists a pelvic strap as an option for it. Our Smirthwaite Felix Lap Strap listing carries that part:
- Felix Lap Strap, one size.
Smirthwaite's Felix lap strap page describes it simply as extra support for when a lap strap is needed. If you are fitting out several Felix chairs and want help with quantities, contact us.
Sunni Cafeteria Chair: footrest and tray
The Smirthwaite Sunni Cafeteria Chair is a support seat that fits onto lunchroom stools and dining chairs. It has two add-ons, both on our Smirthwaite Sunni Chair Footrest and Tray listing, and each comes in the chair's two sizes:
- Footrest, size 1 and Footrest, size 2. Smirthwaite's Sunni footrest page says it fixes to the Sunni and is for children who need extra support for the lower leg.
- Tray, size 1 and Tray, size 2. The Sunni tray is a plain wooden tray that attaches easily, for feeding and play.
The Sunni chair page also points to the footrest as an option for lower-leg stability. Pick the part, then the size that matches your Sunni.
