Pride Go Chair MED: a take-apart power chair for home and errands
Home first, then everywhere else: that is the brief Pride gave the Go Chair MED. Pride says it is meant for use around the house and for daily activities, and that it is optimized for driving both inside and out (Pride Mobility). For trips, it separates into four pieces, and the biggest of them, the rear section, comes in at 36 lbs (Pride specifications).
A good match would be a rider of up to 300 lbs who spends most of the day at home and goes out by car. Pride's figures are a 3.7 mph top speed and as much as 9.41 miles from a charge (Pride specifications).
How it is put together
Two motors drive the rear wheels, and stopping combines regenerative and electromechanical braking (Pride specifications). With the armrests on, the chair measures 25.5 inches across, and 33 inches long with the footplate; it turns in 25.5 inches (Pride specifications). Those are the numbers to hold up against a bathroom door or the space beside the bed.
Two seats are offered: 18 by 17 inches at 29 lbs, or 20 by 18 inches at 32 lbs (Pride specifications). Your feet get a generous footplate, and a 60-inch lap belt is part of the package (Pride Mobility). Add the 20 Ah battery pack, 31.4 lbs on its own (Pride specifications), to the list of things someone will lift.
