The Golden LiteRider Envy (model GP162) is a small power chair built to separate for transport (Golden Technologies). Golden weighs each part: 37 lbs for the front section, 36 lbs for the back, 23 lbs for the seat with arms and 27 lbs for the batteries (Golden Technologies). All together, that is 123 lbs (Golden Technologies).
Range and handling
Two 22 Ah batteries give it as much as 15.5 miles, with a 3.5 mph top speed and a 300 lb rating (Golden Technologies). It turns in 28.5 inches and is 22.5 inches across (Golden Technologies), handy measurements indoors. Driving is managed by a Dynamic LiNX controller (Golden Technologies).
All the tires are flat-free, 9-inch wheels behind and 6-inch casters in front, with 2.5 inches underneath (Golden Technologies).
Seating
An 18 by 16-inch high-back seat is standard, or you can choose a stadium-style seat at 20 by 18 inches (Golden Technologies). You sit 21.5 to 22.5 inches up, and the footrest adjusts for height and angle (Golden Technologies).
Who it suits
None of the four parts weighs more than 37 lbs (Golden Technologies), which suits a household where one person loads the car. Practice the routine once at home before the first trip. Among Golden's take-apart chairs we carry, this one is rated for the longest range, so it is a good pick for long days out.
