Vive Health843 OA Knee Brace Replacement Pads Set, RightGolden Buzzaround CarryOn: folds to 10 inches high
Folded, the Golden Buzzaround CarryOn (model GP130) stands only 10 inches tall, and it breaks into three lifts: base 46 lbs, seat 22 lbs, battery 6 lbs (Golden Technologies). Golden designed its PowerLink connection to speed up assembly and disassembly (Golden Technologies), which makes it a candidate for car trips and travel.
Around the house
With its drive wheels in the center, it turns in 21 inches (Golden Technologies), tight enough for small rooms. The footprint is 24 by 38 inches, with 2 inches of clearance (Golden Technologies). Each of the four wheels has its own suspension, for a smoother ride inside and out (Golden Technologies).
Range and travel
Golden's figures are a 300 lb rating, a 3.85 mph top speed and as much as 12.5 miles per charge (Golden Technologies). Golden calls the lithium-ion battery airline friendly and says you can bring it along as a carry-on when you fly, sail or take the train (Golden Technologies). Policies differ between carriers, so check with yours before the trip.
You sit 21 inches up on a 17 by 16-inch seat, and the chair has lights at the front and back (Golden Technologies). Fully built, it weighs 74 lbs (Golden Technologies).
Who it suits
This chair fits a traveler who wants the base, seat and battery as separate, lighter lifts, and who spends much of the day in small rooms where a tight turn matters. Practice taking it apart once at home, so the first trip is not the first try.
