Vive Health843 OA Knee Brace Replacement Pads Set, RightGolden BuzzAbout: a four-piece power chair for car trips
Golden built the BuzzAbout (model GP164) to be compact enough for travel and sturdy enough for daily use (Golden Technologies). It separates into four parts, so none of the lifts is very large.
Golden weighs each part for you: 29 lbs for the front section, 33 lbs for the back, 34 lbs for the seat with its arms, and 28 lbs for the batteries (Golden Technologies). Put together, the chair is 124 lbs (Golden Technologies).
On the move
Rated for 300 lbs, it has a 4 mph top speed, and its 22 Ah batteries give as much as 11 miles (Golden Technologies). It turns in 28.5 inches, and Golden says it handles well both in the house and outside (Golden Technologies). All the tires are flat-free, with 9-inch wheels at the back and 6-inch casters (Golden Technologies).
One nice detail: as soon as you touch the joystick, motion-sensing LEDs on the footplate and rear handle light up (Golden Technologies).
Seating
The seat measures 17 inches across and 16 deep, and it rides 21.5 to 23.5 inches off the ground (Golden Technologies). You get a high-back stadium seat as standard, or a captain's seat as an upgrade (Golden Technologies).
Its footprint is 23 by 36 inches (Golden Technologies), so check your narrowest doorway and your trunk opening before ordering.
