Metal Grab Bar

A grab bar gives a steady hand something solid to hold where the bathroom gets slippery: beside the tub, inside the shower or next to the toilet. Vive makes this one from stainless steel and says it resists rust and corrosion, so it can live in the wet zone. It can be fixed vertically, horizontally or on a diagonal, and Vive notes a diagonal bar works in most bathtubs as a help when climbing out.

Choose a 12, 16 or 24 inch bar in brushed nickel, bronze, white or black. Measured end to end with the decorative flanges in place, they come to 15.11, 19.11 and 27.11 inches. The grip is 1.25 inches across, and the rated capacity is 440 lb.

Six 2-inch stainless pan head screws and six anchors are in the box. Vive recommends mounting into a stud where you can, with the anchors there for when you cannot. Vive covers it for one year; register with Vive within 30 days.
