Vive Health's Large Lift Chair keeps things simple. One remote raises and tilts the chair forward to help you to your feet, and the same remote reclines it. Vive says the recline can stop at any point along the way, and a side pocket keeps the remote close (Vive Health).
Who it suits
It supports up to 350 lbs (Vive Health). Vive is clear about what it does not do: it reclines to a gentle angle rather than lying flat, and it does not swivel or rock. Vive also advises against the chair for anyone with a pacemaker, so check that point before ordering (Vive Health).
Features worth knowing
The upholstery is a dark brown polyester-nylon blend, and the chair plugs into a standard 110V wall outlet. It weighs 100 lbs. Vive says the base and backrest arrive pre-assembled (Vive Health).
How it compares
Vive's other lift chair, the Lounge Up, makes a useful comparison. The Large Lift Chair is rated higher, 350 lbs against 300, and its seat sits lower at 17.75 inches against 19. The Lounge Up has a slightly bigger seat, 22 by 22 inches, reclines a little longer at 65 inches, uses bonded leather rather than a fabric blend, and lists a recommended user height of 5'2" to 6'4" (Vive Health).
