Vive Everglide Rollator (Model S): adjustable backrest

The Everglide Model S is a full-size Vive rollator with a seat for resting and a padded backrest you can raise or lower. It supports up to 300 lbs and weighs 18 lbs (Vive Health).

Who it suits

The adjustable backrest is the reason to pick this one. The backrest sits 11 to 16 inches above the seat, so it can be set to support a shorter or a taller person when they sit (Vive Health). Larger front wheels also help on varied ground.

Features worth knowing

Front wheels are 10 inches and rear wheels 8 inches. Ergonomic hand brakes slow you on inclines and lock the wheels when you sit. It folds with a pull on the center strap, wheels on, and Vive says it fits in a car trunk. A storage tote and a cane holder come with it, and the colors are blue, black and red (Vive Health).

How it compares

The SunStride is the simpler everyday choice: also rated 300 lbs, with handles from 31 to 36 inches, 8-inch wheels all round and a 17.5 by 9.5 inch seat (Vive Health). The Series T suits a taller user, with handles from 35 to 40 inches (Vive Health). The Everglide sits between them on handle height and is the one with the adjustable backrest and the larger 10-inch front wheels. It also comes with a cane holder, useful for someone who uses a cane around the house and the rollator outdoors.
