Pride Victory 10 3-wheel: a midsize scooter that comes apart

New on our shelf: the Pride Victory 10 3-wheel, model S610. It is a midsize scooter, bigger and more substantial than a travel model, that still comes apart for the car. Pride says its 42-inch turning radius makes department store and supermarket aisles easy (Pride Mobility: Victory 10 3-Wheel).

Who it suits

The Victory 10 suits a rider up to 400 lbs who wants a comfortable everyday scooter for shopping and outings, with the option to load it into a vehicle. It separates using Pride's one-hand feather-touch system, and the front section is the heaviest piece, at 54 lbs. That is a meaningful lift, so it suits households where someone can handle it, or where the scooter mostly stays home.

The solid 10-inch tires never go flat, and Pride notes they handle gravel and grass.

Key specs

Figures from Pride Mobility's specification sheet:

  • Model number: S610
  • Maximum weight capacity: 400 lbs.
  • Maximum speed: up to 5.3 mph
  • Range per charge: up to 15.5 miles
  • Turning radius: 42"
  • Length: 45.25"
  • Width (base, not including seat): 22.25"
  • Weight without batteries: 133 lbs.
  • Heaviest piece: 54 lbs. (front section)
  • Batteries: (2) U1 (standard); (2) 40AH (optional)
  • Battery weight: U1 24 lbs. each; 40AH 32 lbs. each
  • Tires: 3.5"x10" solid front and rear

Battery options

Two battery sizes are offered: U1 as standard, with a 40AH pair as an option. Pride lists up to 15.5 miles per charge. The U1 batteries weigh 24 lbs each and the 40AH batteries 32 lbs each, so the larger pair adds weight when you lift them out. Assembled, the scooter weighs 181 lbs with U1 batteries or 197 lbs with 40Ah.

Seat and features

The compact 18 by 17 inch seat folds and swivels, which makes side transfers easier. Seat-to-ground height is 23.5 to 25 inches. If you can, sit on a chair of similar height at home to see how getting up and down feels. A front basket and LED headlight are standard. Top speed is up to 5.3 mph, and the base is 22.25 inches wide.

Pride offers it in Candy Apple Red or Viper Blue. A midsize scooter like this can suit someone moving up from a small travel model who wants a roomier seat and more range, but still wants the option to take it along.

Before you order

  • Lift test: the front section is 54 lbs; the U1 batteries are 24 lbs each.
  • Battery choice: the 40AH pair adds weight, so decide whether you need it.
  • Turning check: measure the tightest turn at home against the 42-inch radius.
  • Trunk check: compare the 45.25-inch length with your cargo space.

If you are weighing this model against others, the free fit assessment is a good place to start, and our shipping by state page covers how it reaches your door.
