Pride Go Go Endurance Li: a lithium travel scooter for flights

New on our shelf: the Pride Go Go Endurance Li, model S54LXLIT. It is a four-wheel travel scooter that runs on a lithium pack rather than lead-acid batteries, and Pride describes the standard 8 Ah pack as airline-safe (Pride Mobility: Go Go Endurance Li).

Who it suits

If your plans include flights or cruises, this is one of the scooters to look at first. The 8 Ah pack is light, at 8 lbs, and it is the one to carry when you fly. Airlines set their own rules for mobility batteries, so check with yours well before you travel. Pride offers a 16Ah MAXX pack for more range at home, but notes that the MAXX does not meet airline requirements.

It is also a scooter for people who ride on more than smooth floors. Pride's CTS suspension works at both ends, and Pride rates the scooter for riders up to 325 lbs, with a top speed of up to 4.1 mph.

Key specs

Figures from Pride Mobility's specification sheet:

  • Model number: S54LXLIT
  • Maximum weight capacity: 325 lbs.
  • Maximum speed: Up to 4.1 mph at 325 lbs.
  • Turning radius: 48.25"
  • Length: 42"
  • Width: 20.5"
  • Weight: 93.5 lbs. w/o batteries; 101.5 lbs. w/ 8Ah*; 105.5 lbs. w/ 16Ah MAXX**
  • Heaviest piece: 40.75 lbs. (front section)
  • Battery weight: 8 lbs. (8Ah*); 12 lbs. (16Ah MAXX*)
  • Range per charge: Up to 5 miles (8Ah*); Up to 9.9 miles (16Ah MAXX*) at 325 lbs.
  • Suspension: CTS Front and Rear Suspension

Range and lifting

Pride rates the range at up to 5 miles on the 8Ah pack and up to 9.9 miles on the 16Ah MAXX, both at 325 lbs. A lighter rider will usually see more, and hills and cold weather will usually mean less. For the car, it comes apart, and the heaviest piece is the front section at 40.75 lbs. The scooter weighs 93.5 lbs without its battery.

At 42 inches long and 20.5 inches wide, with a 48.25-inch turning radius, it is a compact four-wheeler. If tight turns indoors matter more than the fourth wheel, compare it with Pride's three-wheel travel models.

Before you order

  • Flying soon? Keep the 8Ah pack for air travel and check your airline's rules for lithium batteries early.
  • Riding farther at home? The 16Ah MAXX pack nearly doubles the published range.
  • Measure the trunk, and check that whoever loads it can manage the 40.75 lb front section.
  • Measure the narrowest turn you make at home and compare it with the 48.25-inch turning radius.

If you are weighing this model against others, the free fit assessment is a good place to start, and our shipping by state page covers how it reaches your door.
