Pride Go Go Elite Traveller 3-wheel: a five-piece travel scooter

The Go Go Elite Traveller 3-wheel (Pride model SC40E) is new on our shelf. It is one of Pride's Go Go travel scooters, made for people who want a scooter that packs into a car trunk and goes where they go (Pride Mobility: Go Go Elite Traveller 3-Wheel).

Who it suits

This is a scooter for errands, visits and day trips, especially for someone whose route includes narrow spaces. With a single front wheel it turns in a 33-inch radius, which Pride presents as both steady and nimble. The base is 19.5 inches wide. If you drive to the store and then ride through the aisles, or need something that fits through a friend's hallway, the three-wheel layout earns its place.

Pride's feather-touch disassembly breaks it into five pieces. Without batteries the scooter weighs 75.5 lbs, spread across those pieces, so no one lifts the whole weight at once. With the batteries in, the total is 95 lbs on the 12 Ah pair or 105 lbs on the 18 Ah pair.

Key specs

Figures from Pride Mobility's specification sheet:

  • Model number: SC40E
  • Maximum weight capacity: 300 lbs.
  • Maximum speed: Up to 4 mph
  • Turning radius: 33"
  • Overall length: 37"
  • Overall width of base: 19.5"
  • Seat type: Compact, Foldable (17"x17")
  • Weight: 75.5 lbs. (3-wheel)
  • Total weight with batteries (12 Ah): 95 lbs.
  • Total weight with batteries (18Ah): 105 lbs.
  • Battery requirements: (2) 12 AH or optional (2) 18AH
  • Maximum range per charge (18AH): up to 10.5 miles

Battery choice

You can run it on two 12 Ah batteries or the optional 18 Ah pair. Pride publishes a range of up to 10.5 miles for the 18 Ah batteries. The bigger batteries add weight, so pick them if distance matters more to you than a lighter lift. Either way the charger is off-board, which means you can take the battery inside to charge while the scooter stays in the car or garage.

Seat and setup

The compact 17-inch by 17-inch seat folds, and Pride says it swivels, which helps when you get on and off from the side. Seat height runs from 18.25 to 20.25 inches above the ground. Red and blue body panels both come in the box, so you can change the look whenever you like.

Before you order

  • Measure your trunk or cargo area with the seat folded flat, and compare it with the 37-inch length.
  • Decide between the 12 Ah and 18 Ah batteries: lighter lifting or more distance.
  • Think about where you will charge. The off-board charger lets the battery come indoors.
  • If you ride mostly outdoors on rough ground, compare a four-wheel model too.

If you are weighing this model against others, the free fit assessment is a good place to start, and our shipping by state page covers how it reaches your door.
