Harmar AL300 FULL: a Fusion lift for scooters or power chairs

Mobility needs change. Someone who rides a scooter today may move to a power chair in a few years, and it would be a shame to replace a vehicle lift along with the device. The Harmar AL300 FULL Fusion Lift, new on our shelf, was designed with that in mind.

What it is and who it suits

The AL300-FULL is an outside lift on the receiver hitch, with fully powered lifting and folding. What sets it apart is choice of securement. Harmar offers three: power chairs get a hold-down arm, scooters get a hold-down foot, and a retractable strap kit is the third choice. On the AL300-FULL page, Harmar suggests it for anyone who expects to trade a scooter for a power chair down the road. Harmar also notes it installs on an SUV, truck, van or minivan with little to no vehicle modification, and that no scooter modifications are needed.

The AL300-FULL may suit you if:

  • You use a scooter or a power chair, or you expect to switch from one to the other.
  • Your device is within the capacity below.
  • Your vehicle has a Class II hitch or greater.
  • You would rather keep the cargo area clear than load the device inside.

The usual hitch lift caution applies. The lift, the device and the hitch all have weight limits, and your vehicle has its own. Check the hitch markings or paperwork and the owner's manual so the combined load stays within every rating.

Key specs

From Harmar's product page:

  • Lifting capacity: 350 lb
  • Carries: power wheelchairs and scooters
  • Installed weight: 73 lb
  • Platform: 30.25 in x 42 in
  • Hitch: Class II or greater
  • Operation: fully powered
  • Securement: hold-down arm (power chair only), hold-down foot (scooter only) or retractable strap kit
  • Vehicles: SUVs, trucks, vans and minivans
  • Options: battery pack, cover, license plate riser, swing-away and a MultiView backup camera

Two of the options are worth a moment. A swing-away moves the lift aside so you can reach the rear hatch. The MultiView backup camera is Harmar's camera option for this lift, useful when the platform sits behind the vehicle.

What comes with it

Harmar lists four items in the box:

  • AL107 hitch post
  • AL123 class III hitch adapter
  • License plate mount
  • Wheel chocks

Warranty

Harmar's vehicle lift warranty gives the AL300-FULL three years on parts, covering material, mechanical and electrical components. Coverage begins on the date of initial installation, and Harmar expects the warranty certificate within ten days of installation. The lift must be installed, maintained and operated properly by an authorized Harmar distributor or certified installer. Labor cost, batteries, paint, rust and covers are excluded, as are maintenance and adjustments. If the lift moves to a new application, the warranty can go with it once Harmar's Compatibility Calculator approves it.

Delivery and installation

We work with a team of credentialed local specialists to guarantee timely, safe, and optimal delivery and installation. That includes fitting the lift to your hitch and setting up the securement that matches your device.

There is no shelf price on the AL300-FULL, since the setup depends on your vehicle and device. The fit check on the product page asks a few questions and gives the price for your combination. For delivery details, visit shipping by state.
