Golden Elara: a simple DeLuna lift chair in two sizes

Both sizes, Medium/Small and Large, are rated for 400 lbs (Golden Technologies). Golden pairs the chair with an easy-grip armrest and a soft-feel hand control (Golden Technologies, sell sheet), details that matter to someone with a weaker grip who will run the chair alone.

Features worth knowing

The hand control has a USB charging port built in (Golden Technologies). Golden says it designs and engineers the Elara in Old Forge, Pennsylvania, and that it is assembled in China using Golden components (Golden Technologies, sell sheet).

How it compares

The Cambridge is a similar one-zone, three-position chair in three sizes, with a 9 volt battery backup and a two-button control (Golden Technologies). The Comforter goes further, with seven sizes and up to 500 lbs on its wide models (Golden Technologies). The Elara keeps to two sizes with a 21-inch seat depth in both.

Both sizes have a 21-inch seat depth. The Medium/Small has a 21-inch seat width, 18.5 inches from floor to seat top, 19 inches of wall clearance reclined and a 32-inch overall width. The Large has a 23-inch seat width, 19.5 inches to the seat top, 20 inches from the wall and 34 inches overall (Golden Technologies).

• Electrical parts, years 4 to 7: pro-rated discount (35% down to 5%)
• Labor on electrical parts: subsidized for one year
• Original purchaser, residential use only, proof of purchase required
• Claims go through the selling retailer and need Golden approval
