Cushions, overlays, headrests and leg rests for Feather and ComfyGO

A chair that fits well is easier to sit in for a whole day. Five new comfort accessories on our shelf help with that: a seat cushion and two sets of replacement upholstery for Feather wheelchairs, and a headrest and a leg rest set for ComfyGO power chairs. Each is made for particular models, so we list the fit for each one.

Feather Cushion

Feather's seat cushion is designed for Feather's own wheelchairs, to make the seat more comfortable (Feather Mobility: Feather Cushions). Inside is foam of medium-high density; outside, a cover that breathes and resists water. The underside grips so the cushion does not slide, and a handle makes it easy to take with you.

• 18 in: 2 in thick, with orange or red trim, to match the Feather Chair 18 in
• 22 in: 3 in thick with an added layer of memory foam, green trim, sized for the Feather Chair HD 350

Feather Chair Overlay Set (18 in)

The 18 in overlay set replaces the fabric on the seat and backrest of the Feather Chair 18 in (Feather Mobility: Feather Chair). Use it to give the chair a new color, or keep it as a spare so the chair is never without its upholstery on laundry day. There are five colors to pick from, some plain and some black with contrasting piping. Feather's owner's manual says the upholstery can go in the washing machine but should hang to dry, not tumble.

Feather Chair HD Overlay Set (22 in)

The HD overlay set is the matching upholstery for the Heavy Duty Feather Chair with its 22 in seat (Feather Mobility: Heavy Duty Feather Chair manual). It comes in the HD's signature look, black trimmed with neon green. The care is the same: wash it, then let it air dry. On our shelf it fits the Feather Chair HD 350, our 22 in model.

ComfyGO Headrests

ComfyGO's headrest gives the head and neck something to rest against on a ComfyGO power chair (ComfyGO: Universal Headrest). There are two versions:

• Universal: its fasteners widen or narrow to grip the chair, and ComfyGO says this version suits every ComfyGO chair
• IQ-8000 and IQ-9000: a version built specifically for those two Majestic models

Either way, the pad moves up and down and forward and back, and the frame is light aluminum. We offer it with the Phoenix, the Glide Care G-5, the X-9 and the Majestic IQ chairs.

ComfyGO Adjustable Removable Leg Rest Set

This leg rest set gives riders of the folding Majestic IQ-8000 and IQ-9000 two adjustable supports for the legs (ComfyGO: Leg Rest). Set them to suit the rider; take them off to fold the chair or to clear space in front of the seat. ComfyGO lists the set for both models, which on our shelf means four chairs: both IQ-8000 models and both IQ-9000 AR models, up to the IQ-9000 AR PLUS.

A note on fit

Comfort accessories are personal. If you use a wheelchair for long hours, or have particular seating needs, talk with your doctor or therapist about what support suits you before adding a cushion, headrest or leg rests. These accessories add comfort; they are not a substitute for professional seating advice.
